Who would've thought? As a parent of five children I thought I had seen it all. Pee in my face, vomit on my lap, and the wonderful talking back of teenage mouth. (God help us.) However, nothing quite surprised me by what I saw today!
Aiden loves his ears. He plays with them to fall asleep, he sticks his ear in his ear, (Okay this one amazed me too!) and loves Q-tips! It never occurred to me that he might be putting something else in there?!
Durning a routine doctors visit, it hey check heart, ears, throat, etc. you should've seen the look on Ms. Mitchell's face when she looked inside his ears!
She asked me to look and I could tell there was something in there, but I couldn't tell what it was. We called my husband Carlos to look and he thought it might be apple. Aiden's favorite fruit.
They did an ear flush on him; which I might add is not very comfortable. Rinse, rinse... Plop! Out comes am M & M!
The funniest part of this story is that I can't even remember the last time me it my children had M & M's! Aiden is doing fine, there will be no permanent damage, and he got stickers on his way out! He couldn't be happier.
I always heard about babies swallowing things other than food and shoving stuff their nose, but never in the ear.
So next time Aiden is fussy I will just look inside his ears... Maybe next time I will find Skittles, much tastier than any old M & M.
